Microsoft Is Experimenting For New Edge Features
In this new year, Microsoft is experimenting to create new features. This feature is not for office applications, one of their superior products, or what we often know as Microsoft Office, but for their browser, namely Microsoft Edge. What features is Microsoft currently designing and when will the release date be?
This feature is a split browser, the split browser feature on Edge allows users to split their Edge window into 2 and be loaded by 2 tabs side by side. In addition, users will also be able to interact with the 2 tabs side by side.
Details of this feature have just been shared by a Reddit user with the username Leopeva64-2. Users using the beta, dev, or canary versions of Edge for Windows, macOS, or Linux can try this feature using an experimental flag. Being used for experimentation does not mean that the Edge browser split screen feature has passed the test and will be released.
Active split screen feature will bring up a new icon to the right of the address bar. When the user clicks on the icon, the active tab becomes 2, and allows the user to view 2 web pages side by side. The existence of the split screen feature in the Edge browser is believed to increase effectiveness where you can view 2 web pages side by side without having to open tabs alternately. This split feature is good news for ultrawide monitors users. In addition, users can also activate the split screen feature by right-clicking and selecting "split screen".
Previously, this split screen feature had been implemented for years by one of Edge's competitors, the Vivaldi web browser. But it is possible that Microsoft has just realized that this feature is a very interesting and useful feature for some users.
